Tania Villalobos Luján (she/her)

Tania Villalobos Luján is a researcher and designer working at the intersection of interaction design, data science, and social justice. She is a PhD student in the department of Computational Media Design in the University of Calgary. She is currently focused on developing tools and frameworks that support practitioners engaging with caregiving, counter data, and restorative data science practices. Her work is deeply influenced by decolonial gender theory, feminist movements, and Latin American contexts—particularly around feminicide, forced disappearance, and the ethics of counting. Through narrative, communal learning, and critical reflection, she explores how technology can be reimagined as a form of care.
